Winfrida graduated from Seattle Central College with an associate degree in business. She transferred to University of Nevada, Reno to continue her business education and pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting. One of her favorite things about studying at Seattle Colleges was the small class sizes. "It's so much easier to interact with the instructors and other students," she said.
During her time at Seattle Central, Winfrida was very involved on campus. She joined the African Students Association and held an on-campus job. After graduating, she spent a year gaining experience in her field through Optional Practical Training (OPT), working in the accounting department at an aerospace engineering company.
When asked what surprised her about studying at Seattle Colleges, she said, "being able to meet other international students from different countries, where I learned so many things from different cultures. I have met a lot of good people at Central who have become like family to me."
