Seattle Colleges is proud to offer a wide range of scholarships and other financial awards to both new/future AND current international students. In addition to Seattle Colleges' affordable annual tuition and work opportunities available under F-1 visa rules, there are a number of ways to help you fund your U.S. education.
All eligible students are encouraged to apply for the following opportunities:
Seattle Colleges Foundation Scholarships
Thanks to generous donors, the Seattle Colleges Foundation is able to support hundreds of students at North, Central, and South Seattle Colleges each year. Foundation scholarships are open to everyone, including both new/future AND current international students. In 2024-2025, more than half of all students who applied for a Foundation scholarship received one, and the average award was nearly $5,000.
Foundation Scholarship applications can be completed online from mid-January to mid-March every year. Results are announced in late May and funds are applied to students' accounts in the fall. For more information, visit the Seattle Colleges Foundation website.
South Seattle College Foundation Scholarships
Each year, the South Seattle College Foundation awards scholarships to current South Seattle College students. Applications are usually open from early March to early May each year for the following academic year. Students can apply each year, even if they have received the scholarship before. Nearly 50% of applicants receive a scholarship. In the latest round of awards, 102 students received a total of $434,000, with the average award being $4,800.
Awards can be used only at South and are not transferable to Seattle Central or North. If a student has already applied for a Seattle Colleges Foundation scholarship, they are eligible to apply for the South Seattle College Foundation scholarship as well. For more information, please go to the South Seattle College Foundation website.
Project Baldwin
Project Baldwin at Seattle Colleges is a mentorship initiative primarily focused on supporting underrepresented men of color. If interested, current international students can complete an application to become a student mentee. Eligible students could also be eligible for funding support for tuition, books, equipment, and transportation dependent on their budget on a quarterly basis. Funds for all students are determined on a case-by-case basis, and tuition support of up to $1,400 per quarter may be available.
For more information about Project Baldwin, please visit our dedicated webpage.
International Programs' Tuition Support Awards for Current Students
Once enrolled, make sure to keep an eye on our monthly e-newsletter and social media platforms as we often provide Tuition Support Awards for current international students. Awards typically range from $1,000 to $3,000 and cover tuition and fees.
Honor Society Scholarships
Students at Seattle Colleges who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) or the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) honor societies may be eligible to apply for scholarship opportunities. Each year, PKT offers its members across the United States access to millions of dollars through their transfer scholarships, and NSLS offers more than $400,000.
LewerMark Scholarships
Lewermark, Seattle Colleges' medical insurance provider, provides current international students with $4,500 scholarships twice a year (fall and spring). For more information about these scholarship opportunities, visit https://www.lewermark.com/lewermark-scholarship/.
