Professional Development Grants

The college presidents have set aside a designation of funds to promote faculty and staff development in the area of international understanding through travel, teaching, research, volunteering, attending conferences, or long and short-term exchanges abroad. Previously only open to faculty, these funds have been used to facilitate a variety of initiatives overseas, including research projects, guest lectureships, exchanges with sister institutions abroad, international conferences, workshops, and seminars. Grant awardees are expected to complete a final report and do a poster session at District Convocation following their award activity.

International Professional Development Grant recipients will be able to:

• Demonstrate that they have incorporated more culturally sensitive practices and approaches to their daily interactions and activities.
• Demonstrate that they have developed and incorporated global concepts and experiences into their work responsibilities.
